Twin Lakes Receives Deficiency-Free Health Rating
Twin Lakes Senior Living Community has received a deficiency-free health rating from the Ohio Department of Health’s (ODH) Assurance and Licensing Quarterly Nursing Home Report. The report provides information about selected indicators of care and services provided to Ohio nursing home residents.
Twin Lakes Executive Director Jim Mayer stated, “The average number of deficiencies in Ohio are 6.2 and in the U.S. 7.2 per survey. According to ODH’s 2015 data report (latest published) nearly 122 facilities were deficiency-free in a year, representing about 12% of Ohio nursing communities.”
Conducted every 9-15 months, a standard survey is a resident-centered inspection that gathers information about the quality of care provided in a facility to determine compliance with the requirements for participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Survey data is used to track quality of care and quality of life as well as deficiencies constituting immediate jeopardy. Staffing data is also collected and monitored. Quality of life and person-centered care tags pertaining to resident neglect and mistreatment, resident self-determination and participation, accommodations of needs, and housekeeping and environment also bear monitoring because they relate to basic aspects of resident well-being.
Director of Health Services for Twin Lakes Senior Living Community Lisa Zimmers says, “This deficiency-free rating was the result of an intensive review of our total health care operations including programming, nursing, dining, environmental, and resident satisfaction. It also confirms we’re doing things right by providing good outcomes for our residents and exceeding their expectations. Our associates’ caring and professional attitude toward residents plays an important role in their well-being. It is important for anyone who may be considering a skilled nursing facility or helping to facilitate a loved one’s move, to have an understanding of the quality of service being offered at the facility. A deficiency-free survey is an excellent indicator of the facility’s commitment to excellence and quality of service.”
We are very proud of all our caring Associates who made this achievement possible.
