How do I get started with Outpatient Therapy?

  1. You must provide a physician’s order with your diagnosis.

  3. We contact you to share information regarding your coverage and schedule an initial evaluation appointment.

Once we receive your contact information, insurance details, and your physician’s referral via fax, email, mail, or hand delivery, we run billing insurance and call you within 24 hours to schedule your initial evaluation appointment. We can usually schedule an appointment that fits your availability within 7-10 days.

Insurance Options

Coverage is specific to your insurance, such as Medicare Part B and Managed Care plans, and you may have copays or stipulations specific to your individualized plan. If your plan requires authorization, we submit that to your insurance and work with them to request the number of visits recommended.

For a frame of reference, outpatient therapy sessions:

  • Last 30-60 minutes long at a time
  • Require 1-3 visits per week, depending on your customized therapy plan
  • Occur at this frequency for either four weeks or 30 days
After that, a reassessment takes place to determine if there are continued needs that can be targeted and billed to Medicare. Therapy is billed according to current procedural technology (CPT) codes and the Medicare fee schedule.
